Anabelle Lavoie is an independent filmmaker born in Montreal, Canada. Her short film "An
Afternoon with Paolo" received the MICHEL TRUDEL scholarship from Mel Hoppenheim
School of Cinema, as well as the JURY PRIZE in the student category at the Montreal World
Film Festival in 2014. The film traveled to several film festivals in North America, in addition to
being acquired by the Unis.TV channel. In 2016, Anabelle participated in the Pancanadian
Region Race, where her short film “Selfitis“ got nominated for BEST DIRECTING. She is now in
the post-production process of her next documentary shot in New Zealand, and she is also
writing her first feature-length fiction film.
