women in their sixties who are waging a discreet daily battle against solitude. It’s true
that men often prefer younger women, it’s true that one feels invisible in a youth-oriented
society, but these women are not washed up, far from it…

Stephanie Chuat and Veronique Reymond are Swiss scriptwriters and filmmakers. They have
known each other since their childhood. Trained as actresses, they have created a dozen theatre
shows as a stage duo. They took their first steps towards movie by including video in their plays.
This led them to write and direct four short films and two documentaries. The duo moved further on
by writing and directing their first feature, The Little Bedroom, starring major french actor Michel
Bouquet. Premiered at the Locarno International Film Festival in 2010, the movie was the Swiss
Entry for the Best Foreign Film Language at the Academy Awards 2011. Screened in more than
20 festivals, it received a dozen awards, among them two Swiss Quartz 2011 for Best Film and Best
Screenplay. The little Bedroom was released in Switzerland, France, Germany, and USA. In 2014,
Stéphanie Chuat and Veronique Reymond wrote and directed Open Book, a 6x52 minutes TV
show broadcasted on Swiss and French Television. The binomial just finished Ladies,
a documentary exploring loneliness of elderly women. The film premiered at Visions du Réel Film
Festival 2018, in official competition. They’re also preparing their second feature, Little Sister,
starring Nina Hoss (Homeland) Lars Eidinger (Babylon Berlin) and Claes Bang (The Square), and
developing a new TV show, Toxic.
