This year, Docents’ Choice presents masterpieces that offer new and clear perspectives to objects and situations. From Water Child (Mizuko) that depicts the lost unborn baby alluding to a legend to My Name is Anik that portrays the journey of a woman who tries to find the language of her long-lost mother, their stories break away from daily life and discover ancient fantasy and fundamental roots. Numerous people we meet along the way are our greatest teachers and dear friends as we keep running the race of life.

I have been living and working in Europe since 2002. In 2016, I went to see my parents in South Korea with my one-year old son for he could meet them for the first time. During the stay, I had to decide that my mother, suffering Parkinson’s Syndrome should go for a nursing home to relieve my father. It is a story of generations at its crossing moment, the very moment when my son began to learn walk while my mother started to forget to do so.
