A new film directed by Elia Suleiman <It Must Be Heaven> will be screened as the opening film. The film won the Special Jurys Mention and the FIPRESCI Prize at the Cannes this year. The protagonist looks for the meaning of "home", furthermore, “Country as home,”, he freely crosses the boundaries of various countries, and conveys to us the daily lives of people in various environments. Although we are currently experiencing the boundaries and social distance between countries in the Corona era, moving images of film make us feel that our lives are connected in this ‘contemporary’ sphere. Daily life from the furthest will give us an opportunity to think about the world we live in and the people around us.
<Synopsis> The Open Door is a short film that follows the life of a girl, Pema, from being a baby to adulthood, spanning over half a century. The film is divided into four chapters, each representing a season, roughly every two decades in the girls’ life.
