Jong-bok (78) runs a small corner store in his neighborhood, and these days, his only real joy comes from watching TV. One day, he receives an unexpected phone call from his long-estranged son with news that his grandson will soon be coming for a visit. From that moment on, Jong-bok eagerly counts the days. Sensing his restlessness, Mr. Kim (78) from the laundromat and Ms. Jeong (73) from the beauty salon urge him to get some fresh air and take him to Pagoda Park.
Worried that her dad might get lonely, a daughter brings home a dog named Meong-soon. But on her first night, Meong-soon has a little accident on the bedding and is promptly relegated to the yard. Unhappy with her short leash, she seems to go on a hunger strike until one day, she suddenly disappears.
