Kwon Yi-Young, growing up in a poverty stricken environment of a post-war South Korea, emigrates to Germany trying to find a better life. Now in his 80s and looking back on the course of his long life, Kwon reflects on his hardships, successes, and failures whilst sharing his wisdom to the younger generation.
In the fall of 1974, Yeongsoon was dispatched to Germany as an auxiliary nurse. Ever since then, she only looked ahead going back and forth countless times between Germany and Korea. She calls her life “a life up in the air”.
