<시놉시스>

국문 : 평균 16세에 전쟁터로 끌려간 소녀들은 이제 평균 90세의 할머니가 됐다. 그 오랜 세월 질긴 멍에처럼 따라붙은 이름 일본군 위안부. 인권을 철저히 유린당한 피해자였지만 피해자라 말 못하고 살아온 사람들이 있다. 오히려 수십 년 간 비밀로 꽁꽁 숨겨야 했고 심지어 그 일 때문에 가족에게 돌아가지 못한 사람도 있다. 이 작품은 세계 2차대전 때 일어난 일본군 성노예에 관한 이야기다. 끔찍했던 순간에 대한 강렬한 증언과 울부짖음 대신 그 자리에는, 할머니가 된 평범한 엄마와 나이 든 중년의 자식이 있다. 엄마는 지난 설 무렵 뇌졸중으로 쓰러져 벌써 반 년 넘게 병원 신세를 지고 있다. 위안부로 끌려갔다 돌아와 어렵게 가정을 꾸리고 살면서 어렵게 낳은 아들은 기적 같은 존재였다. 그리고 지금 엄마는 또 한 번의 기적을 간절히 바란다. 아들과 함께 할 시간이 조금만 더 허락되길 말이다.

영문 : The girls, who were taken to the battlefields at the tender age of 16 on average, are now old ladies of ana average on 90. For all those years, they've been shackled to the painful moniker 'comfort women Their human rights were utterly violated, but they could not tell anyone about their victimization. Rather, they had to keep it a tightly guarded secret for many years. There were some who could not even return to their families. This is a story about the women who were forced into sexual slavery by the Japanese military during the Second World War. Setting aside diplomatic and human rights issues, this documentary takes a tempered approach to depicting their lives today and the horrific suffering they had to experience as told by their son. It's been over half a year since mom's been away. After surviving Japanese military sexual slavery, mom managed to start a family after much hardship. Like a miracle, she was able to bear a son, to whom she's looked to for hope and support her entire life. Mom suffered a stroke and has been hospitalized for over six months. Now, she's hoping for another miracle.
